Abstract
Sudden cardiac death(SCD) makes one of the most importent clinical and public health issues. Biological models of SCD implicate several factors, e.g. structure, function, electrogenic component and triggering.
Coronary vasospasm is based on endothelial dysfunction of coronary artery. Vascular tone is governed by the endothelial layer, which releases vasodilator substances in respons to numerous stimuli. Vasomotion causing acute reduction in myocardial
blood
flow may constitute a cause of transient ischemia, initiating chest pain, arrhythmias, and sudden cardiac death. The coronary angiogram in patients with variant angina shows normal findings. The abnormal vasospastic response to acetylcholine is
the
pathophysiologic characteristic of coronary spasm. We report a case of variant angina patient who died suddenly.
The coronary angiogram and electrocardiograms of the patient have suggested SCD.
